Loop for Living Adoption Plans: Turning Strategy Into Ongoing Action

Way back when, at one of my first office jobs, we had a Friday Housekeeping Hour. It’s amazing in theory, and it was somewhat helpful in practice. Here’s the deal.

We would clean our workspaces, and file away anything on our desk. We’d dust and reorganize too, for an hour at the end of the week. On Monday, a nice clean workspace greeted you.

It was great, actually. Except for one somewhat major flaw that nobody counted on....

The files and documents we were working on got, well, filed away. We’d grab the manilla folders with the little label ridge, we’d create a file for the docs or a project, and then..... Poof. Gone.

Not gone though, right? But stashed in a desk drawer. Pulled out again, maybe, never? Or better yet, riiiiight at the due date! Unfinished, un-updated and stale. Just hanging out in that folder!

Before you freak out, I’m not suggesting you leave papers all over your workspace. In fact, most of us don’t even print anymore. But the fact is, we still work in documents. And if they’re static and stale, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Plans lose momentum. Assignments get lost. Collaboration? Forget about it.

Most adoption plans don’t fail because they’re wrong. They fail because they’re static.

Microsoft Loop changes that by making adoption plans living, collaborative, and actionable.

What Makes a “Living” Adoption Plan?

A living adoption plan:

  • Evolves as needs change

  • Captures decisions in real time

  • Lives where people already work

  • Encourages contribution — not perfection

Loop’s flexible components make it ideal for this kind of planning.

Why Loop Works for Adoption

Nobody stashes Loop in the drawer. It’s a shared, flexible, accessible doc that has life.

✅ Track rollout phases as shared components

✅ Capture questions, risks, and wins in context

✅ Update plans without version confusion

✅ Share the same information across Teams, Outlook, and more

Instead of managing adoption about the work, teams manage it in the work. Where they can see it, use it, manage it, and collaborate on it.

Loop helps organizations move from planning for adoption to actively managing it.

Adoption works best when it’s visible, collaborative, and continuously updated — and that’s where Loop shines.

Keep your Friday Housekeeping Hour (name check me when you roll it out please). Use it to remove clutter, dust off your (hopefully MANY MANY) monitors, and sweep the office floor. Not to stash work where it’s never to be seen again.

Let Loop do the heavy lifting there. Ask us how at support@excelandflourish.com.
